So, maybe they aren’t endless, but it’s certainly close. Dark and Darker doesn’t just give us room to play with different types of characters. They also boast a heavy supply of stats that can be just as vital as the gear you bring into each dungeon battle. But let’s face it: there are a lot of stats. It’s easy to worry about all of them, but you don’t need to. Instead, the most important ones depend on which class you have. With the Dark and Darker stats explained, you’ll know what attributes to focus on the most.
Stats – Explained
A wide supply of stats provides some excellent class-building in Dark and Darker, but they must be explained to know how to use them. The more you know, the better you’ll be at deciding which ones are the right ones to focus on and which can fall off to the side. And that will change quite often if you switch characters or can run multiple characters.
We’ll kick things off with base stats and other general attributes. Each Dark and Darker stat will be briefly explained.

Stat and Class Tips
Some players may find minimal use for the base stats in Dark and Darker like Strength, Vigor, Agility, etc. However, what’s more useful to invest in depends on your character and playstyle. For instance, Bards can lean heavily on Resourcefulness thanks to the Persuasiveness modifier that helps determine their song’s buff/debuff length.
If you’re deciding on running a magical character, then anything with spellcasting is the way to go. A Cleric won’t need nearly as much Strength as a Barbarian. Meanwhile, Barbarians start with much higher Strength as they need that weapon power.
As you play around with your character, you’ll determine what’s most important, from movement speed to damage reduction. Don’t forget that armor, jewelry, and weapons add additional buffs that work well with the general stats. Before you know it, you’ll have a character you’re proud to run in every match.
