Dark Horse Comics has revealed its schedule of panels and fun for the upcoming New York Comic Con. The event, which is just a few days away, is bringing a bunch of comic news from some of the biggest publishers in the biz. Earlier this week, Image Comics shared its schedule. Now Dark Horse is following suit. Dark Horse Comics will be present all four days of the convention. It promises a diverse array of panels.

Kicking things off on Thursday October 12, is a look at the future of the Direct Market. The ICv2: The Future of Direct Market: Where Do We Go From Here? panel serves as the final session of the ICv2 Insider Talks: Direct Market Summit, and Comic Industry Social Hour. Additionally, it marks the 50th anniversary of the Direct Market. During the panel, a team of creators and industry insiders discuss the future of the Direct Market. Meanwhile, on Saturday October 14, Dark Horse Comics continues the fun with two more panels. One focused on the horror of comics, the other on the popular Avatar series.
- Dark Horse Horror Hour – A team of creators comes together to discuss all things horror in this fun panel. It promises a deep dive into some of your favorite horror comics like Book of Evil and Count Crowley. Panelists include David Dastmalchian, Leah Kilpatrick, Eric Powell, and Harold Schechter. Plus, Kyle Starks, Tate Brombal, and Scott Snyder. It is moderated by Den of Geek’s Aaron Sagers.
- Water, Earth, Fire, Air: Continuing the Avatar Legacy – The creators and writers of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra take fans on a trip through the world of Avatar. Panelists include Faith Erin Hicks, F.C. Yee, James Mendez Hodes, and Lynn Kestin-Sessler. It is moderated by Dark Horse Comics’ own Cara O’Neil.
Finally, Dark Horse Comics finishes out the weekend with two final panels on Sunday. The first discusses the rise of African Fantasy in comics. The other put the spotlight on a galaxy far, far away.
- World of Iyanu: The Ascension of African Fantasy in Comics & Animation– Panelists Roye Okupe, Brandon Easton, Cara O’Neill discusses the popular series Iyanu: Child of Wonder. The graphic novel and soon to be animated series is rich in African history and that is explored on this panel moderated by Karame Horne.
- Lucasfilm Publishing: Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away… – Closing out NYCC for Dark Horse is a panel about all things Star Wars. A panel of top-notch creators discuss the series with big announcements, reveals, and some special guests. Panelists include Megan Crouse, Claudia Gray, John Jackson Miller, Charles Soule, and E.K. Johnston. Plus, it is moderated by Lucasfilm Publishing Creative Director Michael Siglain.
