Polish developer Jujubee S.A. has just unveiled their new space survival project, Dark Moon. After a solar storm devastates Earth, humans on the Moon’s surface are left stranded. Players take control of a survivor who originally set out to establish a mining facility on the Moon. Utilize a machine known as the Mechaplex to traverse the Moon’s surface. Additionally, build new devices and work with your crew to survive!
Dark Moon: Embrace the Darkness
In Dark Moon, light is your enemy and darkness is your friend. The Sun scorches everything its rays come into contact with. Now, you must lead a crew of survivors to the communications relay and send a message to Earth. Unfortunately, the Sun’s rays cover the complex so it won’t be easy. Dark Moon gives players a mobile base called the Mechaplex. You can set up camp in shadowy terrain to avoid the sun and gather resources. Unfortunately, players cannot stay in one place indefinitely. As parts of the lunar surface are exposed to sunlight, you risk being caught inside of it. Therefore, you must plan ahead and move your base to a new location before the sun’s rays can harm you.
Dark Moon sets you up with a crew that will help you maintain your base. Upgrade their abilities and create new technologies to increase your chances of survival. Your decisions influence the narrative of the story, so this is an important aspect of the game. In addition, your crew responds to the choices you make. For example, there are other survivors on the Moon looking for help. You can choose to help and welcome them onto the Mechaplex. Some of your crew may like this while others may not. Therefore, making too many bad decisions may result in a revolt.
Dark Moon releases on PC in June 2020. For more information, go to the game page on Steam here. How does the game look to you?
