Mantis Shrimp is a nasty boss in Dave the Diver game. There is an extensive list of menacing bosses in the adventure RPGย including, the big Hermit Crabs, electrifyingย Eels, and the huge Shrimp. Unfortunately, the big red prawn is one of the tougher opponents. To add to your misery, the game is yet to fix some problems with the mechanics of the fight. However, if you are failing to win or want to line up to fight the Mantis Shrimp in Dave the Diver, here’s our best advice.

How to Fight Mantis Shrimp Boss in Dave the Diver

The Mantis Shrimp is elusive and extremely fast with its attacks. The creature uses its limbs and claws to generate gushing currents in the water, which will roll you around into the hostile spikes in the surrounding. Here are some strategies you can use to avoid taking a lot of damage and be efficient in the fight.

Safehouse: There is no suitable cover to hide while you are fighting the big prawn. However, if you position yourself behind the right arm of the shrimp, you will be safe from most of its attacks. This is a loophole so take full advantage of it.

Remember the pattern: The Shrimp will usually attack in succession and then calm down for a short while. We have seen it usually attacks three times and then pauses, but it may vary. So we suggest dodging a few attacks and remembering how many it has made before stopping. Use the pause period to launch attacks.

Aim for the eye: While you can use different attacks, the most effective spot is on the Mantis Shrimpโ€™s eye. Use the pauses to swim up and hit the shrimpโ€™s eyes. This opportunity will mostly present itself when the shrimp uses its quick uppercut.

Dodge Supercharged attack: The shrimp will charge itself and use a special move now and then. Use every second to swim up to the ceiling and dodge its heavy punch. This is one attack you donโ€™t want to take. Once the shrimp is done with the attack, you should return under its right arm to save yourself from other attacks.

Keep repeating the above points and stay patient. If you make wrong moves to attack, the Mantis Shrimp will pummel you up and down. The only way to fight it is by waiting for your attack and aiming for its eye at every opportunity.

Dave the Diverย is available now on PC.
