David Harbour raised eyebrows this weekend when he skipped the wedding of his Stranger Things co-star Maya Hawke in New York City. The 50-year-old actor was reportedly in town but instead spent Valentine’s Day on an outing with a mystery woman, leaving fans to wonder if he was invited at all. Social media quickly buzzed with reactions, with some questioning the nature of Harbour’s relationship with Hawke.
David Harbour Skips Maya Hawke’s Big Day
The White Plains-born actor, 50, was seen with a mystery woman wearing a red coat, while Hawke, 27, married singer Christian Lee Hutson, 35, at St. George’s Episcopal Church. Attendees included Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Joe Keery, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, and Natalie Dyer. Maya’s parents, Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, were also present.
Harbour’s absence comes months after the Daily Mail reported he was investigated following a harassment and bullying claim filed by Millie Bobby Brown. The investigation was just before shooting the latest season of Stranger Things.
A source said in November, “Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”
The actor previously defended his relationship with Brown on That Scene with Dan Patrick in 2021, saying, “Millie and I have always had sort of a special relationship because I knew her when she was so young… I have a real protective feeling for her. I have a real, like, worry, i worry about her and the fame and all that she has to struggle with.”
Fans React to Harbour’s Absence
Social media quickly lit up with fan speculation. Some questioned, “’Skipped,’ Was he invited?” while others noted the timing, pointing out Harbour’s Valentine’s Day outing with a mystery companion.
Comments ranged from playful curiosity to concern about potential tension on set, with fans referencing his recent divorce from Lily Allen and past controversies. Fans were also concerned about the actor’s absence at the official press tour and promotional interviews for season five of the show. His absence from Maya’s wedding, combined with missed press events, has drawn even more fan attention.
Despite the speculation, many expressed empathy for David Harbour, acknowledging his personal struggles with his divorce and mental well-being, while still wondering what truly kept him from attending Maya Hawke’s wedding. The question now is, will Harbour continue to avoid Stranger Things co-stars, and what is going on with the new mystery woman?
