With many companies opting to skip the event, DC Comics announced a surprisingly large presence at this year’s SDCC. The publishing giant’s lineup for the show floor is packed with panels, talent signings, and interactive experiences. Plus, the global publisher is teaming up with McFarlane Toys. This partnership brings collectibles and toys of some iconic fan-favorite characters to SDCC. DC Comics’ return to SDCC is gearing up to be one filled with something for everyone.

Announcing this year’s lineup, DC Comics shares that SDCC “provides the perfect platform for DC to connect with fans.” This is also the best opportunity to showcase exciting content and celebrate DC storytelling. Whether you are in it for the publisher’s exciting comics, pulse-pounding TV shows, collectible toys, or cosplay, this year’s lineup is the place to be. Fans can also anticipate appearances by big names in the DC world. This includes DC President, Publisher, and CCO Jim Lee. As well as award-winning creator Todd McFarlane.
DC Comics is also bringing a brand-new booth to SDCC’s show floor. Beginning July 19, guests can visit the booth to purchase a wide range of comics and new merchandise. It will also sell limited printings of Superman “Big Blue” Edition and Silver Screen Editions of Batman #655, Booster Gold #1, Authority #1, and Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow #1. You can also nab SDCC-exclusive hardcovers of Nightwing Vol. 1: Leaping Into the Light, Poison Ivy Vol. 1: The Virtuous Cycle, and Batman by Grant Morrison Omnibus Vol. 1.
Partnering With McFarlane Toys
Among everything else, DC Comics is teaming up with McFarlane Toys at this year’s SDCC. Together, the two will bring some great new collectibles to the DC Booth. According to DC, McFarlane Toys will offer “pre-orders on DC action figures, poly-resin statues, and more.” Plus, the booth offers DC Multiverse and DC Direct products for sale, but only while supplies last.
Of course, there will also be a ton of other panels and engaging experiences for fans to indulge in. Plus, DC promises a glimpse into the future of your favorite DC heroes.
