Developer Cryptozoic Entertainment and publisher YUKE’S announced that they are working with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on DC Dual Force, a brand-new free-to-play digital trading card game. The platform hasn’t been announced yet but it is planned to be released sometime in Q3 2022. I assume it’s gonna be an Android and iOS title like the new Pokemon TCG.
DC Dual Force is described as a “fresh way” to play a collectible card game, where you can mix and match your favorite DC heroes and villains to your very own decks that take advantage of each character’s synergies by utilizing the “Team Up” mechanic. Cryptozoic Entertainment and YUKE’S haven’t revealed much of the gameplay but so far it seems the cards are divided into three different categories: Leaders cards, Minions cards, and Action cards.
The game will also feature unique single-player modes that draw on over 80 years of DC Comics history, where players can unlock rewards and get a constant stream of new content, including playable comic book scenarios from the vast existing DC library, added every week. Fan-favorite characters from the DC Universe such as the head honchos of the Justice League will be released at launch. Later Cryptozoic Entertainment promises to add in all superheroes and villains down the line in future updates.

Cryptozoic Entertainment co-founder Cory Jones said in a statement that this is a dream come true for the team. And they are ready to make a welcoming card game that still offers a variety of challenges by utilizing all facets of the DC Universe comic books.
We feel incredibly privileged to have such unique access to the DC Universe. As game makers and lifelong comics fans, this is really a dream come true. We are determined to deliver the definitive card game based on comic books.”
President and CEO of YUKE’S Yukinori Taniguchi added, “We are honored to have an incredible partnership with Cryptozoic and cannot wait to see the DC Universe come to life as a digital collectible card game.” Ready to build your super-powered deck next year?
