Something approaches The Entity’s Realm on the wings of a bat. Castlevania will be joining Dead by Daylight, as Behaviour revealed during the game’s 8th Anniversary live stream on Twitch. With dozens of core series and spin-off games, the adventures of the Belmont Clan and its allies helped inspire an entire genre. It’s a bit surprising that it’s taken eight years for some kind of vampire story to arrive in DbD, but considering the quality of this one, we can’t complain. Grab a whip and a crucifix. Here’s what we know about the Dead by Daylight x Castlevania crossover so far.
Castlevania Comes to Dead by Daylight
It’s too early to say if we’ll see any P100 Vlad Tepes mains in The Entity’s Realm. Behaviour has yet to officially announce any characters. That said, it’s exciting to speculate, considering how many great characters Castlevania is home to. While Dracula and Alucard are obvious choices, other members of the Belmont Clan would fit in the Fog. Although Oni absorbs blood from injured survivors, there are no proper vampires in Dead by Daylight‘s current roster. If any dev could figure out an interesting way to implement the Count’s famed life-leeching powers, it’s probably Behaviour.
Castlevania‘s titular castle would make for an incredible Dead by Daylight map, but Behaviour has yet to say if it’ll be coming to the game. Its gothic atmosphere and interlaced passages would do a lot to separate it from indoor maps like the Treatment Theatre and Hawkins, so we can only hope it makes an appearance. We might not be able to see its reflection, but we’re still keeping an eye on this collaboration as it develops.
Dead by Daylight is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
