At this year’s EA Play Live back in July, EA showed off many of their upcoming IPs along with new installments in fan-favorite franchises. What arguably stole the show though was news of a remake of the original Dead Space. Looking to recapture the magic of the first title, this remake was looking to be the best and most modern version of Dead Space out there. And while some would argue the first game aged like a fine wine (thanks to stellar lighting), having a visual upgrade isn’t unwelcome. If you’re excited about this new installment, then you better set an alarm for tomorrow morning. At 10 AM PT (1 PM ET) tomorrow, August 31, the Dead Space remake team will be giving an early look at the title’s development tomorrow. If you want to watch for yourself, you can do so on the Motive Studio Twitch channel.

Now, before you go jumping up and down in your chair, it’s important to set the correct expectations here. The tweet above very much clarifies this is an early look at development and not a first look at the game. The wording is important, meaning this will likely give more information than it will gameplay of any sort. The Dead Space remake may have had a good chunk of time in the oven so far, but Motive Studio hasn’t given a release window yet. Reading between the lines tells us there still isn’t a lot for the team to show, so gameplay will likely be at a minimum (if there at all). Still, this is reason to get excited, as transparency from a development team is a rare commodity these days. For the sake of both the game and our concerns regarding its form, I hope they keep to this format.

Will you be tuning into the Dead Space development live stream? What’s your favorite moment from the Dead Space series, and do you believe Motive Studio can recapture that excellence? Let me know in the comments below.

The Dead Space remake will launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
