Deadpool is getting a new comic run just in time for the worldwide release of Marvel’s Deadpool 3 film. The brand-new ongoing solo series hits shelves in April and comes from writer Cody Ziglar and artist Roge Antonio. This duo is bringing everyone’s favorite gun-wielding merc into a whole new era. However, fans can still expect Wade’s iconic violence and lunacy. This time, it comes with a side of family drama.
New Year, New Series
Marvel’s iconic mercenary is not holding back in Deadpool. The ongoing series is breathing some fresh air into classic Deadpool action. This includes a brand-new archenemy for Wade to deal with known as Death Grip. This villain may prove too much for the Marvel hero to handle. However, that is not all this series is bringing. The series will feature Wade Wilson’s daughter, Ellie, in an important role. Will Wade and Ellie be the father/daughter duo Marvel isn’t expecting? Or is Death Grip going to make sure everything ends in tragedy?
No matter what happens, this series is sure to be one wild ride. Zigler shared that Wade Wilson has been one of his favorite comics since he got into comics. So, working on this new series is nothing short of a dream come true. The writer is eager to explore Wade’s family, his approach to mercenary work, and all the other weirdness that comes with the hero.
Deadpool 3
Of course, this new series is not the only media Deadpool is starring in next year. The highly anticipated Deadpool 3 film is expected to be released in a few short months after this new comic’s debut. The film will bring Ryan Reynolds back as Deadpool and promises a few familiar faces. One such face is Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. This will mark the first time that the two characters have entered the official MCU. Unfortunately, plot details remain under wraps as fans await the first official trailer for the flick.
Deadpool hits shelves on 4/3, while Deadpool 3 is expected in theaters on 7/26.
