A new limited comic series from Marvel, Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII, is bringing war to the titular duo. The three-issue series is from the minds of Joe Kelly and Adam Kubert. It will find the Marvel Universe plunged into World War III and the role Deadpool and Wolverine will play in it. The series, which debuts later in May, kicks off a big summer for the Marvel characters. The two are about to bring their unique relationship from comic to the big screen in this summer’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Until then, fans can expect a bloody good time in this action-packed team-up from Kelly and Kubert.

According to Marvel, Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII is a globe-spanning saga not to be missed. The miniseries brings Joe Kelly back to the world of Deadpool alongside legendary artist Adam Kubert. This is truly a match made in Heaven as the two bring a wild story to audiences. The creative duo takes the merc with a mouth on a radical journey throughout the three issues. With Wolverine along for the ride, this is an intense and one-of-a-kind series.

The miniseries finds the mysterious Delta contemplating change on a grand scale. This enigmatic villain has their sights set on Deadpool. Unfortunately, Wolverine is also in the crossfire. Will a third World War do the trick, or is number three a curse? Whether it is or not, the Marvel Universe must prepare for WWIII as it erupts. The cover art from Kubert promises a bloody rough time for Deadpool and Wolverine as they experience the horror of war.

A Team-Up For The Ages

Joe Kelly recently spoke on returning to the world of Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII. The writer shared their happiness with working alongside artist Kubert, whom he worked with earlier in his career. He also teased what fans can expect from the three-issue series, which makes Logan the entry point of the series. In doing so, Kelly could explore the character more intensely and uncover his unique perspective on the world.

Of course, Kelly also promises this will be just as bloody and horrifying as any Deadpool and Wolverine team-up. With an erupting World War as the backdrop, it is impossible not to let these two iconic characters bring their personal brand of violence to the miniseries.

Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII #1 is on sale this May.
