Airlines have faced criticism over the years for delays, customer service issues, and disputes with passengers, but incidents involving travelers being removed from flights often spark the most attention online. A Georgia woman says she experienced exactly that during a recent trip with Frontier Airlines.
According to the passenger, the situation began after a misunderstanding involving her hearing disability. She claims flight attendants believed she was ignoring them, even though her ticket reportedly indicated that she is deaf. The moment was captured on video and has since sparked a heated conversation on social media.
The passenger, who posts on TikTok as @legallyswiftie13, shared the clip explaining what she says happened during the incident. In the video, Ashley says she was approached by a flight attendant before takeoff, but was unable to hear what was being said to her.
According to Ashley, the situation escalated after the crew assumed she was refusing to respond rather than realizing she could not hear them.
Passengers seated nearby can be heard attempting to explain the situation to the flight crew. Several people pointed out that Ashley’s ticket indicated she is deaf and suggested the situation may have been a misunderstanding.
Despite that, Ashley says the decision had already been made for her to leave the aircraft.
At one point in the video, Ashley becomes emotional while explaining that she is not trying to cause problems and is willing to cooperate with the crew.
“It’s embarrassing to walk up the aisle when I didn’t do anything wrong,” she says in the clip.
Eventually, a flight attendant informs her that she will need to leave the plane. Ashley gathers her belongings from the overhead compartment while other passengers question the decision.
Videos involving passengers being removed from flights often gain traction online, particularly when they raise questions about how situations between airline staff and travelers are handled.
Internet Reacts to Frontier Flight Incident
After the video began circulating online, many viewers expressed support for Ashley and criticized how the situation appeared to unfold.
“Wow! Enjoy winning your lawsuit because this is actually a horrible display of disability discrimination,” one commenter wrote.
Another commenter joked, “Looking forward to you being the new owner of Frontier Airlines!”
Others argued that airlines should ensure employees are properly trained to handle situations involving passengers with disabilities.
Ashley also addressed the airline directly in the caption of her video, writing that Frontier should “train your flight attendants on disability accommodations.”
The video continues circulating online as viewers debate whether the situation was the result of a misunderstanding or a failure to properly accommodate a passenger with a hearing disability.
