Talk of Death Stranding coming to PC has been going on almost since the game launched on the PS4. Today, we not only have confirmation of such a port but its release date.
505 Games dropped a “stealth” trailer on YouTube earlier this morning that divulged not only the existence of Death Stranding on PC but that its arrival is June 2, exactly three months from today.
Not long after the video surfaced, the company tweeted out confirmation the game will be coming to both Steam and Epic Games Store. The tweet also confirmed the game is coming with photo mode, a “high” frame rate, and ultra-wide monitor support.
This version of Death Stranding is also going to offer some mystery content from Valve’s Half-Life though 505 didn’t specify just what that would be. It appears gamers will have to purchase the title in order to see just what that content entails.
Preorders are available today on the official 505 Games store and there’s some other added content should you decide to purchase the game ahead of time. For $59.99 you’ll get the game on your preferred launcher, as well as a gold and silver armor plate – level 2- and a pair Chiral gold and omnireflector ludes mask sunglasses.
Preorders will also net players a gold and silver power skeleton, the official Death Stranding score as a digital download and “digital selections” from the Official Art of Death Stranding by Titan Books.
The announcement also puts to rest questions of just what Hideo Kojima was trying to tell us a few weeks ago. On February 19, he tweeted out a brand new trailer from the game, done in the style of Academy Award-winning movie, 1917. Along with the tweet, he included the caption, “coming in 2020.” Some believed it meant new DLC was on the horizon. It turns out he was referring to the port.
Death Stranding will arrive on the PC on June 2nd, 2020.
