Immerse yourself in the captivating world of soul collecting, and take on the role of a small crow who works as a “reaper” for the Reaping Commission Headquarters. The player travels to a realm untouched by death while tracking down a daring thief that has stolen a soul. Armed with a sword and arrow, it’s the player’s responsibility to explore the region. In this land of secrets, discover the origins of the Doors and the truth behind the flow of souls. Death’s Door is an intriguing action-adventure indie game that was released on July 20, 2021, for Xbox and Microsoft Windows, which will become accessible on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation starting on November 23, 2021.

Death's Door

Many have compared the game mechanics and aesthetics in Death’s Door to popular series such as Legend of Zelda and Dark Souls. Acid Nerve, the developer, previously produced Titan Souls and used the same themes to create Death’s Door. The developer even drew inspiration from Studio Ghibli while constructing the game. Overall, Death’s Door has received highly favorable reviews. On Steam, it has earned a rating of “Very Positive”. The game was nominated for “Best Indie Game” at the 2021 Golden Joystick Awards and “Best Indie” at The Game Awards 2021. Death’s Door won the award for Best “Game Feel” at the INDIE Live Expo Winter 2021 Awards.

This adventure is one worth embarking on. In just its first week, the game sold more than 100,000 copies. The stakes are always high, and the small health bar makes every battle thrilling. Paired with exciting combat, this game delivers an engaging tale with puzzles and dungeons. Death’s Door is a clever game with nostalgic music and charming animation. Above all, the secret rewards and quirky characters make each moment in the game riveting. Death’s Door will become available tomorrow on the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store for $19.99.
