Sean “Diddy” Combs is a troublesome name right now and not really something anyone wants to be associated with. Recently, it was mostly high-profile celebrities steering clear from any liaisons with Diddy like it’s a hot potato. Now, even iconic restaurants and smaller brands are making their own 180-degree turns away from the music mogul. Such is the case for the iconic Hollywood diner, Mel’s Drive-In.
Mel’s Drive-in is quite famous in Hollywood for its upright version of the Walk of Fame, called the celebrity wall. On this celebrity wall, photos of celebrities who have given support to the diner are displayed for others to see. Among those celebrities, of course, is none other than Diddy.
But with the long list of Diddy’s pending lawsuits and criminal cases that include (but are not limited to) widespread sex trafficking and a long history of sexual assault, Mel’s Drive-in had to adjust its celebrity wall. The restaurant took down at least two of Diddy’s photos to erase his presence from the diner basically.
“We’ve been following everything in the news about Diddy, and it’s not okay,” according to the manager of Mel’s Drive-in. In fact, they started removing Diddy’s photos weeks ago as an immediate response to the Diddy allegations, according to TMZ.
Diddy Had a Long History With Mel’s
One of the oldest photos was with Diddy standing alongside the jukebox at Mel’s Drive-in back in 2008. This was an important milestone in his Hollywood career as it was also the same year he received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
It’s worth noting that several new lawsuits against Diddy have popped up from his fellow celebrities and people from other walks of life just this week. These lawsuits accused Diddy of “raping, drugging, sodomizing, and threatening to kill alleged victims.” Some of these victims were also allegedly teenagers at the time.
Still, Mel’s Drive-in apparently believes in “innocent until proven guilty.” They have stated in the event that Diddy is found innocent of all his charges, the diner will reinstate the rapper’s removed photos.
