Oftentimes, when a protest is announced, you typically get a massive swarm of love and excitement as fellow citizens discuss plans and what to protest. However, as protests mount, some Republican and conservative individuals are growing tired of it, and this was never more apparent than at a planned Independence Day Protest set to take place in Idaho’s Boise City Hall.
In a post shared on the Idaho Reddit page by user undeadpirate19, a poster can be seen advertising an Idaho 50501 Fourth of July Independence Day protest, scheduled for noon at Boise City Hall. Now, typically, when protests like this are announced, it’s often a huge wave of support from other people excited to show up and protest against Trump and his administration. But in this instance, support was less than enthusiastic, if we are being polite about it. Here is what folks had to say, preceded by the official description of the protest in question.
Join us after the Boise 4th of July Paradeโstarting at noon at City Hallโfor a Citizens Town Hall hosted by Idaho 50501. Weโre collecting testimony, taking questions, and gathering your concerns in a Community Book weโll hand-deliver to Idahoโs Senators and Representatives. This is your chance to be heardโand help shape what comes next.
Not everybody was enthusiastic, however.
“People complaining about other people protesting against tyranny on Independence Day sounds like something out of a heavy-handed dystopian film, but here we are I guess”
“Just chill out and celebrate the greatest nation in the history of this planets birthday!!!!”
“This is gonna backfire severely. I’d say don’t do this garbage idea. Let the real patriots celebrate no kings day, since 1776!”
“While I definitely support free speech and lawful peaceful protest Iโve found Liberals are never happy, always complaining and hate our country if they arenโt getting their way.”
“Yโall need a life”
As you can see, reactions are mixed at best, and pretty negative and downright hostile at their worst. Regardless of what you decide to do on America’s big birthday, do it safely.
