The Broncos havenโt had much to cheer about this season, but one of their fans delivered a play outside the stadium that has gone more viral than anything the team has managed on the field. Caught on video outside a Denver brewery, a Broncos fan stepped in to save a woman from being attacked, only to be escorted away by security in a move that has fans just as baffled as the teamโs playbook.
The ‘Play of the Game’
The footage, filmed outside the Denver Chophouse & Brewery, shows a man lunging at a woman before a fan in a bright orange Broncos jersey swoops in. He grabs the attacker, pulling him away from the woman in a move that some online compared to a linebackerโs open-field tackle. Onlookers can be heard gasping as the situation unfolds, but instead of celebrating the fanโs quick action, security intervened, and not in the way people expected.
In the clip, labeled โTop Flight Securityโ by sarcastic commenters, guards are seen escorting the Broncos fan away as if he were the one who caused the problem. The man who rushed to the woman remained behind, raising questions about whether the good Samaritan was punished instead of praised.
Social Media Reacts
As soon as the video went viral on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), the reactions poured in. โBroncos canโt make a tackle on Sundays, but this guy sure did,โ one fan joked. Another added, โBest defensive play Iโve seen all season and security threw him out for it.โ
The irony wasnโt lost on Broncos Nation, who have watched their team struggle week after week. Meme-makers quickly compared the fanโs โgame-saving playโ to the defenseโs inability to stop opponents, with one post reading:
Questions About Security
Beyond the football jokes, others are asking serious questions. Why was the fan removed instead of the alleged aggressor? Did the security personnel misunderstand the situation, or did they react to the scuffle without knowing who had started it?
Denver police have not confirmed whether arrests were made, but the clip has already been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
For now, the Broncos may still be losing games, but at least one fan gave the city something to rally behind.
