An influencer and lawyer from Denver, Colorado received one of the most annoying infections of her life after her ex-boyfriend farted at her face. She even had to endure the constantly recurring disease in her sinus for seven years, all because of a playful prank that many couples or even friends likely perform, deeming it harmless.
Christine Connell is the unfortunate woman in question here, and seven years ago, she and her ex-boyfriend stayed in a hotel after a surgery. Naturally– and as per couple tradition, someone has to fart in an enclosed space, though it seems Christine’s ex-boyfriend farted a little too close to her face while he was changing clothes. According to Christine, it was a biohazardous scent:
“I couldn’t breathe. It’s not anything that even compares to that [the fart],” recalls Christine
Ever since catching wind of her ex-boyfriend’s flatulence, Christine has been having a constant and consistent stuffy nose and facial pain. Christine has been battling sinus infections for seven years, all because she had to inhale her boyfriend’s fart since she was immobile after her surgery.
Initially, Christine didn’t blame her constant sinus infections on her boyfriend’s gas that one fateful night. During one visit to the doctor, however, they took a culture sample from her nasal cavities and found a strain of E. coli. Doctors were confused as E. coli is usually found in feces and usually doesn’t end up in the nose.
Of course, the obvious culprit was Christine’s boyfriend’s fart seven years ago. Christine even recalled that she started experiencing her sinus infections from that point onward. Christine and her boyfriend sadly broke up long ago, but according to her, he pulled off one of the most vile breakup revenge ever.
Christine Connell wishes it were a joke
It’s worth noting that Christine Connell only found out about her boyfriend-fart-induced sinus infection this month. She’s still currently struggling with her sinus infection and even considers surgery so that doctors could physically scrape off all the E. coli and the infected tissue.
And no, this is not one of those influencer pranks since Christine Connell is more of a travel influencer. Also, the poor woman has been to four ENT doctors, and the one who discovered the E. coli in her nose is apparently the best she could find at the moment. Her case did seem to be rare, hence why other ENTs likely assumed it was just a clear-cut case of allergic rhinitis, except it wasn’t.
However, thanks to Christine Connell’s stories, couples who have heard it now seem to be more wary of where and how exactly they release their flatulence. After all, what happened to Christine was indeed, the worse case scenario after being farted at. It’s not clear what course of action Christine Connell will take next, but surgery is likely the only path she hasn’t tried yet.
Meanwhile, others have suggested that Christine send all the medical bills to the ex-boyfriend, but sadly, he has blocked her on social media.
