Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate is ready for the debut of its first event, and that is Arms Week. In it, Guardians will focus on one weapon at a time to bring to PvP matches without any other abilities, just good old FPS fun. However, the kicker is that players can get guns with limited-time volatile mods, as well as other weapons to add to their repertoire. Here is a complete guide to everything you can do and obtain during the Arms Week event in Destiny 2.
Arms Week Event Guide

As soon as you fire up Destiny 2, you’ll be greeted with the Arms Week event screen. Here, it will show you the general gist of it. You’ll be able to equip weapons with Volatile Mods, which last only for the event, and bring them to PvP matches. Furthermore, decrypting some of these engrams also has a chance of giving you a Holofoil variant of a specific gun, which is excellent for those collectors. In any case, here’s how you can start and participate in the event.
How To Start The Arms Week Event

To start the event, head to the Shooting Range inside the Tower, and talk to Ada-1. She’ll give you the new Hand Cannon, Phoneutria Fera, and allow you to look at all the challenges, quests, and rewards for Arms Week. You can also jump straight to the Arms Week: Hardware mode from the game’s Portal, but you’ll end up talking to Ada-1 anyway, so two birds with one stone, as they say.
Once you speak to Ada-1 and get your brand new gun, equip it and queue up for the Arms Week: Hardware PvP mode. One important thing to remember is that you can bring any gun to these matches. However, this Arms Week event is tailored toward one of the best gun types in Destiny 2, and that is Hand Cannons. So, if you want to complete challenges faster, equip the new one or any other you have, such as Hawkmoon, and start fighting. Lastly, this mode only allows weapons. You won’t be able to use any class ability during the match.
Quests and Rewards

While there are some daily tasks that we won’t list here, there are some weekly challenges and quests you can pursue as soon as you jump into the event. Here’s a list of them:

All Weapons & Volatile Mods

While there are many guns in the event, only two of them are worth getting since they are the new ones on the block. One excellent Hand Cannon, that you can get for free by the way, and one intriguing Trace Rifle. Here they are:
- Phoneutria Fera (Solar Hand Cannon)
- Tenacity (Origin Trait): When targets are nearby, final blows grant weapon damage, reload speed, and handling until the wielder’s death.
- Hakke Breach Armaments (Origin Trait): This weapon deals increased damage against vehicles and constructs.
- Ribbontail (Strand Trace Rifle)
- Tenacity (Origin Trait): When targets are nearby, final blows grant weapon damage, reload speed, and handling until the wielder’s death.
- Omolon Fluid Dynamics (Origin Trait): This weapon has increased reload speed and stability for the top half of the magazine.
Two important things to remember about these featured weapons are that you can obtain their Holofoil Variant in the Engrams, and also, they come with randomized perks, which is why we didn’t list any.
If, for whatever strange reason, you don’t want any of the new guns, you can also obtain the following guns in Ada-1’s Focused Decoding during Arms Week inย Destiny 2.
- Exalted Truth (Void Hand Cannon)
- The Palindrome (Arc Hand Cannon)
- Sightline Survey (Arc Hand Cannon)
- Luna’s Howl (Solar Hand Cannon)
- Exuviae (Stasis Hand Cannon)
- Warden’s Law (Kinetic Hand Cannon)
- Kept Confidence (Strand Hand Cannon)
- Austringer (Kinetic Hand Cannon)
The above weapons are some classic Hand Cannons you might’ve missed. They shouldn’t be your priority during the event, but if you really want them, feel free to grab them while they are around.
Finally, here are some of the time-limited Volatile Mods you can find in some of the guns:
- Fragmentation Rounds: Precision final blows create multiple explosive submunitions.
- Chaotic Munitions: Precision final blows produce randomized effects.
- Cowboy Grip: Drastically improves hip-fire.
Also, you can bring any gun with the above traits to the time-limited PvP matches, which is great if you want to complete some of the challenges that involve defeating players with Hand Cannons.
Also, you can obtain Even Tokens when increasing your event’s rank and completing challenges, and some of the rewards include:
- Reroll Chips (These cost Silver)
- Ascendant Shards
- Exotic Ciphers
- Phoneutria Fera Solar Hand Cannon
- Ribbontail Strand Trace Rifle
- Enhancement Prisms
- Arms Week Weapons Engram
- Ascendant Alloys
- Enhancement Cores
- Glimmer
If you do get a lot of Event Tokens, going for the weapons is always the best idea, especially if you’re aiming for a good roll. Other than that, you can spend it on some upgrade materials.
