The season of contests has officially begun. After many months without them, the Guardian Games have returned to Destiny 2 in their 2026 edition. While many Guardians might already be familiar with the event’s gimmicks, many other new things are coming this time. Rushdown Mode returns, albeit with completely random bosses to give this event the Remix Bungie has promised. There are new armor sets, many weapons, and the good old “what class is best” debate of every year. So, whether you’re joining in for the first time or are a veteran at this competition, here’s a guide to everything included in this classic event.

Guardian Games 2026 Dates

Before we dive into the whats and hows, let’s talk about the when. The Guardian Games 2026 of Destiny 2 will run for three weeks, which is from March 24, 2026, to April 14, 2026.

How to Start the Guardian Games Event

Like previous years, you’ll have to visit Eva Levante at the Tower, where you can grab the recent iteration of the Best in Class quest, a free Cloak, and get started with the event itself.

Rushdown Mode and Rushdown Remix, Explained

Last year’s Rushdown Mode returns to Destiny 2 as part of the Guardian Games 2026. However, beyond the familiar gameplay we saw before, there’s a new mode called Rushdown Remix. For the former, players will go through a gauntlet of specific encounters to try and beat them before the timer runs out. However, the new Rushdown Remix will throw a Fireteam into the same gauntlet, but with randomized enemies. There will be a different daily selection of bosses, so make sure to log in every day to see what the lineup is.

Beyond that, you also have Contender and Platinum Cards, which are your event-specific Bounties. You can only have one of each, and you’ll always get a randomized objective. For instance, in our case, we got “Get Final Blows with Arc, Solar, Arc, or Void weapons or abilities,” and “Get Final Blows with Light Buffs on Solo Ops.” Completing these Bounties will give you Event Experience and Medallions.

New & Returning Weapons

Naturally, many will want new weapons to add to their collection, and the Guardian Games of 2026 bring many for all Destiny 2 players. Here is the complete list:

  • The Beacon (Solar Fusion Rifle)
  • Triple Laureate (Stasis Hand Cannon)
  • Keraunios (Arc Trace Rifle)
  • Gizmo Weft (Strand Grenade Launcher)

Last but not least, the Guardian Games of 2026 bring some slick armor sets to Destiny 2, which lean more to mythical creatures, instead of the Greek deity-inspired ones of last year.

  • Titan: Lion Armor.
  • Warlock: Hawk Armor.
  • Hunter: Cobra Armor.

So far, Bungie has been cooking with the recent Guardian Games set. While every single one was great last year, we must admit that Titan and Warlock are the true winners for 2026—sorry, Hunters.

In any case, there are many things to do right now, so be sure to jump into all the activities in Destiny 2 and remember to collect and deposit medallions daily to help your class during the event.
