The Festival of the Lost is Destiny 2‘s spooky season event and now that it’s here, there is enough limited-time loot to fill a Jack o’ lantern. While the Festival of the Lost is not quite as much of a grind as some of the other event we’ve seen, collecting all that loot before the end of the event can still be a challenge. However, with some guidance and a point in the right direction, you’ll be able to grab up all the Festival of the Lost 2023 loot in Destiny 2 in no time.
Equipping Festival of the Lost Masks
To add one of the spooky masks to your Guardian’s outfit, visit Eva Levante in the tower and pick up a Masquerader’s Helm, as well as the event quest, and equip in your helmet slot from your inventory. Once the new helmet is equipped, the other masks from the Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2 can be added to your helmet as an ornament from the armor cosmetics options for your mask. This includes any other masks you previously unlocked from Festivals of the Lost in past years.
Earning Tickets Through Event Challenges
While wearing your masks, you can complete Event Challenges in order to earn tickets. This can be done by completing Challenges within Legend Haunted Sectors and Haunted Sectors, but your chances are much greater with Legend Haunted Sectors. After you’ve done that, you can upgrade your Event Card so that you can spend each of those tickets to get more and better treats. Additionally, you can use the new Hocus Focus mechanic to focus your Exotic Eerie Engrams. That said, you can catch up on weapons and armor you may have missed previously. You can even pick up the brand new Festival of the Lost Memento that sports an all-black leather look.
Getting Festival of the Lost Loot
Most of the Festival of the Lost loot is available for purchase from Eva Levante in the tower. You just need to earn candy by defeating enemies while wearing their festival mask and by completing runs of the Haunted Sector event. These tasty currencies can also be earned by completing bounties for Eva. The prices of loot varies.
Unlocking Universal Ornaments
Universal Ornaments are Destiny 2’s cosmetic skins. They change the appearance of your armor without changing the stats. There is one ornament set for each class available for this year’s festival. All of the ornaments can only be found in the Eververse shop. However, this year, for the first time ever, the Destiny 2 community voted on the class armor ornaments for Festival of the Lost and came up with some interesting results. For Titans and Hunters, a spider-themed ornament was chosen, while Warlocks get beetle-themed ornaments.
So there you have it. Complete the Festival of the Lost quest, collect candy and tickets from activities while wearing a mask, run the Haunted Sectors, then buy loot from Eva with candy, that’s your Festival of the Lost loop. Destiny 2 is now available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.
