To get your hands on the Star-Eater Scale leg armor, you need to complete a Legendary Lost Sector on any planet with Legend or Master difficulty. Although getting this piece of armor is not guaranteed, you will have a higher chance of getting Star-Eater Scales if you play on Master difficulty. However, Lost Sectors aren’t the only way you can get your hands on this leg armor. Star-Eater Scales also have a chance to be dropped from Exotic Engrams and can be purchased from Xur if he has them available. Another option is Exotic Focusing with Rahool, provided you’ve gotten a copy of Star-Eaters in the past.
The exotic trait of Star-Eater Scales allows Hunters to charge their Super ability more quickly and also makes it a little more powerful.
