Detective Pikachu released some “audition” footage. As usual Ryan Reynolds can’t get enough of immersing his fans into every one of his projects. He tweeted a video today stating it was the real audition for all Pokemon. Many of the Pokemon fans could recognize right off the bat. Anyone who has seen the animated series or games will be stoked for this. Humor never slips away from Reynolds as he always strives to make everything light and playful. Most of his work with Deadpool allowed the actor to come out of his shell and really show what he could do on screen. The fact that the A-List actor and producer is apart of Pokemon in itself is a joke. One joke I very look forward to watching. Check out the video below:

Starting with some of the most recognizable Pokemon, one can’t help but notice how realistic they look. Even with the digital characteristics, I want to collect one of these Pokemon. The video displays Pokemon and a description that I can only assume is what Ryan Reynolds himself would classify them as. None of the descriptions are completely accurate though a couple does come close. I am blown away at all the great work Ryan Reynolds provides in this role.
Detective Pikachu is currently scheduled for a release on May 10th. The film stars Ryan Reynolds (as the voice of the titular Pikachu), Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe, Khary Payton, Bill Nighy, Suki Waterhouse, Chris Geere, Rita Ora, and Omar Chaparro. With all of the positive feedback the film has gotten so far with its trailers, Detective Pikachu is sure to be one of the best pop-culture films of the year.
