There are many things I would be terrified of when it comes to moving to a brand new apartment. Maybe my neighbors won’t be as nice as my previous ones. Maybe I won’t like the neighborhood as much. I don’t think I would have been prepared for a massive infestation of rats, though. One Maryland woman was unfortunate enough to have to deal with a rat problem, but what’s worse is that management is reportedly not doing a thing about it. Hopefully, this video changes their minds about it.
The above video was posted to TikTok by @ethionpianshawty, and depicts her latest experience living in Arrive Silver Springs Apartments in Maryland. In the video, she describes the infestation as being overwhelming, with dead and living rodents appearing across all surfaces of the residence. To really prove her claims, she shows various parts of her kitchen, which show a deceased rat on the floor and another trying to climb into the cabinets above the refrigerator.
She claims to have called maintenance, who then came into the apartment with pest control to resolve the issue. However, much of the footage shown is actually from after maintenance had deemed the issue resolved. What makes things more interesting is that when @ethionpianshawty returned to the apartment to collect a few things while pest control was there, they had collected a bag of deceased rats to remove from the premises.
She claims that she was not allowed to take a photo or video of the bag. At this, commentators were absolutely shocked, with many saying something along the lines of. “A bag of rats…. A BAG OF RATS???!“
Maryland Woman Has Rats Infesting Apartment and Management Does Nothing
In an update video, it is shared that not only did @ethiopianshawty reach out to management to try and resolve the issue, they responded rudely. According to an email sent to her on September 14, the management office said, “We are making every good faith effort to respond to your requests. despite their complete lack of merit. If what you were saying is true, you would be doing everything in your power to help us fix the issues you claim. You consistently fail to do anything except complain and we continue to find no evidence of your claims. We will see you Friday.”
Furthermore, even more commentators jumped in to offer advice, with the top comment expressing, “Girl….you need to CATCH the EVIDENCE and DELIVER it to the LEASING OFFICE….” There haven’t been any subsequent updates since this one. However, I can only expect there to be another very soon as the situation continues to go on.
