Have you ever wanted to know what it would be like to use one of Walmart’s intercom systems? Well, apparently so did this brave Florida woman. A recently viral TikTok posted to the account @It.Merr already has over 8.2 million views, as well as 1.2 million likes. The clip shows how a young woman’s hilarious prank made other customers sprint through the store’s aisles, as they all rushed for a chance to win a free TV.
The TikTok starts with the woman standing in Walmart’s outdoors section making an announcement on the intercom. The Florida woman can be heard pretending to be an employee as she tells shoppers that the first 20 people to make it to the customer service desk will receive a “Free flatscreen TV.” She then repeats her words, before counting down from three and yelling “Go.” The video’s comment section seemingly found the countdown very funny, as one even said it was “Diabolical.”
Florida Woman Pranks Walmart Shoppers
The video then cuts to the same woman starting to slowly jog through the Walmart. However, the TikToker wouldn’t be the only one making their way over there. By beginning to run herself, she had seemingly tricked a few other customers into taking off. In the clip, viewers can see multiple shoppers fly past the woman at increasing speeds. The ensuing chaos even had TikTok users drawing some unusual comparisons. It “Reminded me of the Purge,” commented one.
As the Florida woman and other Walmart shoppers continue to run through the store, the TikToker can be heard encouraging them. At one point in the video, she would get passed by two men going a little faster than her. As they passed by, the woman could be heard saying, “Let’s go, guys.” After picking up her pace in order to keep up, they would finally make it to the customer service desk. However, a worker, as well as about 10 other shoppers, were already there telling people it was a fake announcement.
However, the Florida woman would pretend to have no idea what’s going on. As the woman in the TikTok keeps walking around asking where the TVs are, a Walmart employee states that “Someone got in our PA system.” Although the woman would double down on her prank, asking, “Who would do that?” before the TikTok cut off. It appears the woman would get away with her hilarious prank, and at the end of the day, it seems as though it was just harmless fun.
