Sean “Diddy” Combs is hoping to be granted bail in the coming days. The disgraced rapper has been trying to get released from jail ever since it was declared that he would have to stay behind bars until his trial begins in May of next year. However, Diddy isn’t taking that decision lightly. He’s maintained that the allegations against him are false, and has continued to petition the court for bail. This time around, he asked to be allowed to live on his private Florida island while awaiting trial.
According to Radar Online, Diddy’s lawyers asked for his release, revealing that having him under lock and key at his private residence could be more restrictive than his jail cell. However, the prosecution revealed that the music mogul could be a threat to others and a flight risk if he were to be granted bail. They also claimed that Diddy was trying to “pay his way out of custody.”
Diddy’s lawyers asked that he be allowed to await trial at his home in Star Island. The same residence that was raided by the feds in March. However, the judge quickly shot down that idea, claiming that it was “no going to work.”
Diddy Asks To Be Granted Bail So He Can Return To Private Island
Diddy’s attorney then shifted and asked that the judge consider letting their client be sequestered at his estate in New York. Lawyers asked that Combs be allowed to live at his Upper East Side apartment. However, guards would be on duty around the clock. They claim that Diddy would have no access to a phone or the internet except to contact his lawyers. He would also have to go through a legal process to have family visits.
The judge is now taking a few days to think about the options before ruling on whether or not Diddy will be granted bail following his fourth request.
Of course, many fans are appalled by the thought of Diddy being allowed to live in his lavish home instead of being held in jail.
“This man is certifiable. He wants special treatment and it’s sickening. He’s being accused of heinous crimes. He needs to be behind bars until he’s declared guilty or innocent,” one person wrote on Reddit.
“I find this totally absurd!!! He needs to be in jail,” another stated.
“If it’s more restrictive, then why does he want out so bad?” a third person wrote.
As previously reported, Diddy has been making moves in his case, and as a businessman. He’s said to be earning some serious cash behind bars as he’s created a new business by renting out his private jet for a pretty penny. He’s also reportedly put his Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $61.5 million.
It remains to be seen if Diddy will be let out on bail as he awaits trial for his sexual misconduct allegations. However, he seems determined to be released in the near future.
