Diddy‘s past ties to President Donald Trump resurface following the incarcerated rapper’s recent win in a sexual assault lawsuit. Conspiracy theorists speculated the POTUS would bail his old pal out after a judge dismissed five claims against Diddy. The drama recently occurred at a hearing for Rodney Jones’ allegations.
Legal documents revealed the judge did not buy most of Jones’ nine claims against the rapper. The former music producer’s RICO claims, infliction of emotional distress, and breach of contract allegations were dismissed. The legal umpire also rejected a Trafficking Victims Protection Act claim against the music mogul’s company, Combs Global.
Additionally, Jones’ attorney, Tyrone A. Blackburn, faced the music for failing to file the allegations properly. The judge bashed him for dropping subpar legal filings and failing to understand Diddy’s innocence in a separate matter. The disgraced rapper was presumed innocent in a separate grand jury indictment on criminal charges, per TMZ.
Critics Suspect Donald Trump May Help Diddy Escape the Scathing Charges
Although the judge dismissed five out of the nine allegations against Diddy, the sexual assault case was not over. Jones’ scathing abuse claims remain valid, but whether or not they make it to trial is a different story. The former music producer filed his allegations against the rapper in February 2024.
At the time, Diddy slammed the accusations as an extortion scheme masquerading as a sex trafficking and RICO conspiracy. On the other hand, Jones’ lawyer believed they had a good chance at victory. “Yeah, a win is a win, playtime is over, we look forward to discovery. I hope Defendants are ready,” the legal rep declared.
While Jones’ attorney was confident, critics shared a different opinion. These conspiracy theorists speculated Trump would not allow his old pal to rot in jail. “Diddy will get a pardon from his friend Donald,” someone claimed. Another echoed similar sentiments, writing, “Donald and Diddy. Two rapists. One allegedly and one proven.”
A third agreed, noting Diddy might use the $50 million he offered for bail to secure a federal pardon. The critic added that if “career criminal” Trump helped Diddy, he could not escape the state charges against him. The speculations come a month after the rapper attempted to exploit a loophole in his sexual assault lawsuits.
Diddy Faces Backlash for Trying to Block 22 ‘Improper’ Lawsuits
We covered the drama in February, reporting Diddy’s legal team had found a way to block 22 lawsuits. Tony Buzbee filed the cases against the Bad Boy Records founder in the Southern District of New York. However, he did so without prior authorization, a mistake Diddy’s team jumped on.
The rapper’s lawyers stressed that Buzbee filed the lawsuits before filing a pro hac vice for permission to practice in the district. Therefore, they pushed to deny him the privilege, blocking the 22 sexual assault lawsuits. Additionally, they argued that Buzbee violated New York’s Rules of Professional Conduct by insisting Diddy was guilty of federal charges.
Naturally, the attempt to block the lawsuits got many talking on social media. Most called out Diddy for running away from his alleged sins, with someone claiming he was “f-ckd.” Another argued that he was always pointing the finger at others, describing his behavior as a sign of guilt.
