Bandai Namco has confirmed that it will be bringing the once PS Vita-exclusive Digimon World: Next Order to the Nintendo Switch next year. The game will be released on February 22, 2023, in Japan, but there is currently no confirmed release date for the West.
When Will Digimon World: Next Order Come to Switch?
Digimon World: Next Order is an RPG developed by B.B. Studio and published by Bandai Namco exclusively for the PS Vita back in 2016. While the game did receive a port to the PS4 in 2017, it has not been added to a Nintendo console until now. The only toe other Digimon games available on the Nintendo Switch are Digimon Cyber Sleuth and the recently released Digimon Survive.
Here is the official description for Digimon World: Next Order:
Welcome back to the Digital World! An all-new adventure & story awaits! The Digital world is in despair. Machinedramons are running rampant and causing utter chaos… the Digital World needs your help! Recruit faithful Digimon companions and meet friends along the way to help you on this epic journey.
The game will follow a whole new story in the Digimon world with over 200 Digimon species from across the animated series, in addition to the ability to explore the world with two partners instead of one. The Nintendo Switch version will also have a new Beginner Mode and a running option.
A player’s success is determined by how they raise, train, and care for their Digimon partners. The new Evolved AI Battle System emphasizes raising Digimon to cooperate in battle independently to strengthen their bonds and raise their chances of victory.
Bandai Namco has confirmed that Digimon World: Next Order will release in Japan in February but has so far said nothing regarding a western release. We will keep readers informed on any future updates.
