Over the years, Devolver Digital has built itself as a publisher supporting games of the unique and wacky variety. That’s worked in their favor, introducing such infamous indie games as Enter the Gungeon and, more recently, Fall Guys. I could look at nearly every one of their titles and suggest it, given my immense love for unique indie games. They don’t show any sign of stopping either, as yet another studio under their belt is ready to release their next game. Disc Room releases on Nintendo Switch and PC on October 22, bringing a new reflex-testing adventure to fans. You can check out the new trailer below.

Disc Room | October 22 | Nintendo Switch and PC

Disc Room takes place in 2089, where space travel has become more developed with greater possibilities than before. Things take a strange turn though, as a giant disk appears around the orbit of Jupiter. As a brave scientist of this future world, you must venture in and see what secrets this disc holds. Your adventures won’t be calming though, as dangerous disks fly violently across the rooms of this place. You must run, dance, and dash around these obstacles if you are to uncover this disk’s secrets. Will you survive, or will the scientist become a red stain on the ground again, and again, and again?

The art style of Disc Room shares a similarity with how simple this concept is. Everything’s very basic but still manages to look stunning and modern. That only supports the gameplay, which promises to be intense and exhilarating as you try to dash around obstacles. It seems a lot of Devolver Digital’s games take that form, but are supported by immense depth. That’s not something to complain about though, as it’s often a sign of something magical to come.

We’ll have to wait until October 22 to see if Disc Room is as fun as it seems. What do you think of Disc Room? Will it be another great game in Devolver Digital’s catalog? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below.
