Say whatever you want, but even the bravest person out there gets spooked by bugs, and you know what? It is perfectly understandable. These creepy crawlers tend to appear in the most unexpected places, and they give us such a shock that we don’t even know what to do. Something like this happened to a person in Phoenix, Arizona, who saw a flying bug enter their apartment and hide between their curtains. They were so scared that, once they discovered what kind of bug it was, they thought the best course of action was to burn their curtains. Fortunately, other Redditors gave better advice that saved this person’s furniture.
If insects trigger you, then we advise you not to read some of the things the OP and other Redditors wrote in the thread.
According to this Arizona victim of the buggy menace, they were in their apartment when they saw a bug fly inside. They quickly shared a clip of the insect inside the curtains, and other Redditors said it was a sewer cockroach. Yes, they fly and are among the nastiest, biggest, and scariest insects out there.
When OP found out about this, they thought the best solution was to burn their curtains, and frankly, we’re in the same boat. We would not like to deal with this bug in any capacity. Fortunately, other Redditors, besides describing this insect and some experiences with it, told them to look for another solution that didn’t involve fire.
Many told them to lure the insect to a glass full of liquid and drown it, others to smack it with something big, but in the end, it seems OP found a way to get rid of unwanted visitor, as they shared a picture of the squased bug, which we won’t put here due to evident reasons, as none of us would like to see what happened with the flying insect.
Despite the somewhat happy ending to this situation, many were still shocked.
“That’s a big dirt shrimp.” – Bagfrio via Reddit.
“Yep, that’s a sewer roach. They are big, nasty, and fly. I had to use a combination of a tennis racket, a can of Raid, and a bike helmet to get rid of it.” – My_name_isnt_nick via Reddit.
Ultimately, we’re happy to learn that the insect is gone, but it was truly a frightening experience, even for us on the other side of the screen. We expect some bugs to enter our home and cause a bit of chaos, but when they start flying, yeah, that’s a whole different league we don’t want to mess with.
