Disgusted Denver Customer Discovers Maggots Inside a SPAM Can: ‘The Nastiest Thing I’ve Seen Today’

It made me feel nauseous

When you arrive home, ready to prepare dinner, the only thing you expect is that everything goes smoothly. However, sometimes there are some factors that might ruin someone’s meal and appetite. One example happened not long ago to a person who was ready to prepare a poke musubi dish. Sadly, when the customer in Denver was ready to open their can of SPAM to start preparing the meal, they discovered something horrifying: the whole can was allegedly infested with maggots, thus ruining this person’s night, and probably convincing them not to buy SPAM ever again.

Djackso is the Redditor who shared their heartbreaking and meal-ruining story on Reddit. According to them, it was a normal night, and they planned to prepare a poke musubi. First, they shared that they struck gold with the avocado: the seed was pretty small, so they would have a lot of avocado to use. However, the universe conspired against them, as no good avocado goes unpunished.

When they proceeded to open their Korean BBQ SPAM can, the Denver person discovered it was infested with maggots. If you have a strong stomach, you can take a peek at the second image, which shows the harrowing look inside the can. Be warned, however, that it is not for the faint of heart.

The OP said that this completely ruined their dinner and appetite, and with good reason. No one would expect a can to be full of maggots. Also, the victim of this shocking situation said they didn’t want to upload a video because the squirming was terrible, and might have been too much for viewers to handle.

To illustrate just how bad the situation was, the OP mentioned that they don’t get grossed out quickly. However, this SPAM was the breaking point, and we don’t blame them. This is something no one should find in their food or in any ingredient they use to prepare a typical dinner.

A lot of people have been speculating about what happened with the can. There are many processes these products go through to avoid these horrifying situations. The OP mentioned that the can didn’t have any visible damage, so most users believe the seal was broken, leading to the maggot infestation.

Since this image made many stomachs churn, Redditors quickly shared their opinions regarding this disgusting situation.

“Thanks, that’s the nastiest thing I’ve seen today,” commented dmh2693.

“I don’t know if I would ever be able to recover and eat spam ever again if this happened to me,” said Accurate-Mistake8502.

In truth, we share the above sentiment. Finding maggots in a can of any product would prevent us from buying it again. We’re not sure how the OP is feeling right now, but if it were up to us, we’d be giving canned foods a wide berth for a while to come.
