Sometimes, when you got to go, you got to go. One New Jersey woman was traveling through upstate New York, and when her bladder could no longer bear the pressure, she gave in — except she did it right outside a liquor store. Now, doing your business in public is one thing, but doing it right in front of an establishment or business will likely have someone call the police on you, which, in this woman’s case, they did. However, an important point to make here is that she wasn’t peeing in public for some exhibitionist reason; she’s 3 months pregnant.
“My bladder was about to burst,” the New Jersey woman recalls in a Reddit post, and the only place she could pull into was a liquor store parking lot as she was traveling. She bought a Gatorade to be polite before asking the clerk if there was a bathroom available for customers. Unfortunately for her, there wasn’t. Unable to hold it any longer, she squatted down in her dress right outside the door and let nature have her way. Although the worker came out screaming for her to stop and even called the police, the least she could do was apologize and continue finishing up her business. She is pregnant, after all, but the store employee didn’t know that.
“I just didn’t want the judgment of being in a liquor store while I was pregnant if that makes sense,” the New Jersey woman explains on r/legaladvice. “I just hate myself for doing it and I feel like a disgusting person for doing it,” she says regretfully, clearly expressing how she didn’t mean to do the act. “So… what are the chances that anything comes of this?” she worriedly asks Reddit. The top commenter states that if she hasn’t been arrested or contacted by the cops, there should be nothing to worry about. “If the cops want to talk to you, don’t,” the user continues, “Tell them you don’t speak to police without you lawyer present and then zip it.”
Another Redditor encourages her not to give any concern about what happened. “If this is your first child, know that you’re going to get judged no matter what you do,” such as breastfeeding or bottle feeding in public, dealing with a baby’s tantrums, and the like. “So this is a good time to develop a “DGAF” attitude.” Plenty more commenters added their similar opinions of not telling the police anything and that a pregnant woman having to go, even in public, shouldn’t be anything to worry about.
Hopefully, nothing comes of all this for her, as there was little she could do, given the situation. Not to mention, she’s pregnant, so her body’s bound to do bizarre things without her approval.
