I’ve always been told to be careful what I eat whenever I go somewhere unfamiliar. No matter how much you might trust a place, you never truly know what someone might be doing to the food being served to you. A shocking discovery was recently made near San Jose, California, when a well-known restaurant had an employee being recorded throwing frozen slabs of meat against the concrete floor in the back to defrost them. I don’t think I’ve ever held my jaw open for as long as I did while watching this particular video, and how disgusting it really is.
The above video was posted to the TikTok account @sergiogarcia9100, belonging to a man named Sergio. The account itself isn’t very special, with a few videos featuring Sergio doing various things, such as driving in California and watching anime. However, his most recent video is the one that really blew up.
The angle of the video appears to have been taken from a shopping plaza rooftop, looking down at the back entrances of some of the establishments. In frame, you can see a restaurant employee picking up and then smashing down what appear to be frozen cow ribs. While this isn’t unheard of to try and shake off additional ice, it’s the fact that he was doing it on the bare concrete that was really questionable.
Yes, there was a cardboard sheet draped on the floor to catch the meat, but more often than not, it didn’t land there. What’s even worse is that the concrete is very obviously stained with car grease, oil, and dirt from years of not being cleaned and neglected.
San Jose Restaurant Under Fire For Purposely Smashing Meat on Concrete Floor
Commentators quickly rushed into the replies to get the full story, which wasn’t explained at all in either the video or its caption. Many of the comments point to a restaurant called PhoLove Milpitas in Milpitas, California, some accompanied by Google satellite images that prove it.
Many other comments were either screenshots of some of the more disgusting parts, like when the meat hit what appears to be an oil puddle, while others were more direct. One person even said, “Call the Health Dept‼️😳😳“
While those particular cuts of meat were not shown actually being sold to customers, it’s difficult to think of any other reason for the employee to be doing what he was. There is even a point in the video where he brushes off debris from the floor, not making the case any better for him.
