Doctor Who Series 9 will kick off later this year with Peter Capaldi making his return as the Doctor and Jenna Coleman returning as the spunky companion Clara. The Series will be a 12 episode run, with several two-part stories, with showrunner Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin as the executive producers.
Check out the trailer if you haven’t seen it already:
After a tragic and heartbreaking Series 8 finale last fall, Series 9 will see the Doctor and Clara continue their adventures through time and space.
“They’ve suddenly realized that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hell-bent on adventure,” Capaldi says on the BBC website. “[The Doctor’s] in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something that even he does not yet understand…”
Series 9 will premiere on BBC America on September 19th.
