While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come back in a strong way in 2021, Marvel fans will now have to wait a bit longer for the next entry once the year is through. Disney has released a new release schedule for many of its upcoming films, which includes several delays for future MCU entries, including the Doctor Strange sequel.
As reported by Variety, Many of these date changes include Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from March 25 to May 6, Thor: Love and Thunder from May 6 to July 8, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever from July 8 to November 11. The Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels has also been pushed from November 11 to February 17, 2023, bumping Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to July 28, 2023.
In addition to many of the MCU phase 4 updates, Disney has also changed the release date for Indiana Jones 5. The action-adventure sequel has now been pushed almost an entire year, going from July 29, 2022, to June 30, 2023. Here is the full updated release calendar shared by Variety:

Disney hasn’t given an explanation for why this decision was made. It certainly can’t be fully blamed on the box office as films like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Venom: Let There Be Carnage have done remarkably well at the box office despite the ongoing pandemic. Fortunately, this list doesn’t include Eternals, Spiderman: No Way Home or any of the Marvel Disney+ shows, so fans still have all of those to look forward to.
