Should you expect a New Game Plus for Cyberpunk 2077? NG+ is a term referring to starting over a title after completing it with bonuses to make the second playthrough different from the first. For instance, some games allow you to keep your inventory from the end of your previous playthrough in your new saved file. Multiple titles now have a Game Plus for you; it’s become a common feature. However, does Cyberpunk 2077 have a New Game Plus? Does the Phantom Liberty expansion have that feature, too?
The base Cyberpunk 2077 game can be very lengthy as is. It can take you between 25 to 100 hours to finish the game. Nonetheless, you may want to start over with a new character but want to carry over your inventory and abilities. You will end up gathering a wide variety of equipment and skills after playing the title for dozens of hours. Transfering your equipment over to a new saved file after completing the main story will make the new playthrough easier.
Unfortunately, there is no New Game Plus for Cyberpunk 2077. Nothing special happens after you beat the game once. If you choose to begin a new game file after completing the game, you won’t receive any nice bonuses and will need to start over from scratch. However, there are fan mods you can download that will add a Game Plus.
Is There a New Game Plus for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty?
Phantom Liberty is the expansion DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. While the expansion is part of the main game, Phantom Liberty has its separate story mode and new areas to explore. The expansion acts almost as its own separate game, portraying itself as a follow-up to the events of Cyberpunk 2077.
Whereas the main Cyberpunk 2077 game doesn’t have a New Game Plus, does that mean Phantom Liberty doesn’t have one as well? When you finish the main narrative of Phantom Liberty, there isn’t any reward for you to carry over to a new playthrough. In other words, Phantom Liberty does not offer NG+.
