Can you transfer your saved data from the Final Fantasy XVI demo to the full game? Square Enix has released the demo for Final Fantasy XVI, allowing players and fans to playtest the game before its June 22 release date. The demo covers an early portion of the title and wouldn’t take fans more than a couple of hours to complete. Nonetheless, players want to know if any progress in the demo will carry over to the full game. It would be unfortunate for gamers to have to replay those early parts from the demo when the game fully releases.
Can You Transfer Progress on the Final Fantasy XVI Demo to the Full Game?
Progress made in demos is generally carried over to a main title, but it’s not always a guarantee. Fortunately, the Final Fantasy XVI demo does allow players to carry over progress to the full game.
The Final Fantasy XVI demo released on June 12, ten days before the full title’s June 22 release date, offers gamers plenty of time to try out the game before launch. The demo only covers the prologue, taking, on average, two to three hours to complete. You download the demo through the PlayStation Network Store.
The demo is free to play for everyone; you don’t need a PSN account or any other subscription service. Add the Final Fantasy XVI demo to your PSN Library and download it there.
When the title fully launches, play the full title on the same PlayStation account you play the demo. The full game will recognize the saved data from the demo and carry over your progress onto your main game.
What Does The Final Fantasy XVI Demo Cover?
The Final Fantasy XVI demo only covers the opening act of the game. It covers the main character’s, Clive, early life as a teenager, showing his relationship with his brother Joshua and friend Jill.
The demo has a tutorial on how to play the game, and it includes a few missions involving some monster slaying. The demo climaxes with a boss fight between Phoenix and Ifrit, as depicted on the game’s logo.
After completing the demo, players unlock a Special Battle Demo. The Special Battle allows players to experience the combat of Final Fantasy XVI with additional Eikon abilities. Since the demo only covered the first part of the game, Square Enix added the Special Battle to allow players to try out some of the abilities they earn later. The Special Battle includes a fight with Benedikta Harman, who uses the powers of the wind Eikon, Garuda.
