Starfield is the highly anticipated space RPG from Bethesda Game Studios. And since the developers can make huge universes with tons of content, the players are looking forward to the release. As is customary in Bethesda games, you can create a unique character and go through an exciting and most importantly unique adventure. The game promises to be huge, so you would definitely want good performance from it. For this reason, many players are wondering if there is any anti-piracy software in the game. So, read on to find out if Starfield have Denuvo.

So, we are guessing that Starfield doesn’t have Denuvo. And here are some reasons for this:

  • Firstly, there is not a word about such software on the Starfield page on Steam. Almost always, DRM-enabled games have a warning on the store page.
  • Secondly, Todd Howard stated that Starfield will have modding support to extend its lifespan. It looks like the studio will continue the tradition that all fans are used to.
  • And thirdly, as we said, previous developer titles, such as the Elder Scroll and Fallout series, did not have anti-piracy systems, which did not affect their success in any way.

Of course, Bethesda may add Denuvo to Starfield at some point. But we do not think that the developers will do this, as this may reduce the sales of the studio. And most likely it will degrade the performance of the game for PC players.

What Is Denuvo?

Denuvo is a DRM software that is not welcomed by many gamers. It uses various methods, including encrypting the game’s files to protect it from being hacked. However, Denuvo significantly degrades the performance of the game. For this reason, some developers removed this software from their titles after the release.

That’s all you need to know about whether Starfield have Denuvo or not. This software in most cases will ruin the gaming experience for all players who prefer PC to consoles. So, we hope that developers never add this to their games. In the meantime, take a look at our Starfield Shattered Space Expansion guide.
