Fortnite Chapter 5 moved into Season 2 and the new season brings many new features to the game. In a nutshell, the Society is gone and instead, the Gods of Olympus have stepped onto the island, bringing with them their Mythic weapons. The map has changed, NPCs have changed, and a new Battle Pass has been added. Without further ado, here’s how all these relate to your Fortnite level being reset and why.

Why Did My Fortnite Level Reset?

Every season in Fortnite, a new Battle Pass is added to the game and all players’ level for that season is reset. Your Account Level, however, is permanent and will show your account’s base level no matter how many times the season resets. To make a long story short, since we have switched to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, your Battle Pass level appears to be reset because we have switched to a new season. However, it is actually just an indication of your progress in Battle Pass, the actual important thing is the Account Level as we mentioned.

Here is how you can see your main Account Level:

  1. Launch Fortnite and select Battle Royale or Zero Build mode.
  2. Then click on Career at the top of the screen.
  3. You can see your Account Level at the bottom left of the screen.

Leveling up your Account Level won’t give you rewards like leveling up your Battle Pass level, but it will help other players understand how old your account is and how experienced a Fortnite player you are.

As previously mentioned, your Fortnite level has been reset due to the season change and the addition of a new Battle Pass. You can check out the rewards for the new Battle Pass added to the game in Chapter 5 Season 2 Myths & Mortals in the video below from the YouTube channel ShuffleGamer:

Fortnite is currently available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices.
