You read that headline correctly. If you can teach a dog to do a ton of tricks, then they can also teach themselves how to behave like cats. It’s probably a little bit harder to do, but if there’s one thing you can commend a dog on, it’s their loyalty to being happy. One TikTok user realized just how much their dog acts as though he were raised by other cats because, well, he was!
The video stars Opie from @opieandthepack, a pitbull who very much acts the opposite of what people have come to expect from the breed. In fact, the video’s caption states that when Opie was first adopted, the owner already had two cats who were the pets of the home. In response, Opie decided to join them and be one himself! The video depicts him rubbing his body against his owner’s legs and laying down with his feet tucked under him, similar to a cat.
Opie’s cat-like movements are uncanny, and when compared to the cats he lives with, you can immediately see where he gets his inspiration. Tons of comments acknowledge how adorable Opie is while others don’t even believe that he’s a dog in the first place.
“I kept waiting to see the dog….. really cute cat though!!!!”
To be honest, as a person who lives with four cats and a dog, I didn’t think that dogs would want to mimic one’s behavior. I’ve never even seen my dog do anything remotely cat-like.
“I HAVE NEVER SEEN A DOG LOAF AND IT IS THE CUTEST THING EVER”
Opie’s owner will have to be careful; the next thing she knows, he might also be trying to use the litter box! He’s already taken to sleeping in the cat’s small, heated bed, so I’m sure he’d at least want to try it once.
