The former CNN Morning Show host Don Lemon says he isn’t in any rush to find another job, or even if he wants another one. He remarked, “I do, I want to work again, but I’m lucky enough to be in a position where I don’t have to worry about those things.” The former host spent 17 years at CNN before he was fired; Don Lemon says he will spend the summer on the beach with family and “see what happens next.” He made sexist remarks about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, which landed him in hot water. Right now, it doesn’t seem like any news organization is in a rush to hire Don Lemon, and he acknowledges that he’s lucky to be in a position to not have to rush to find a job. He’ll have to do some work to fix his reputation.
Don Lemon Has Strayed from the Respectable Journalist He Used to Be
When asked if he’d do anything differently, he responded, “I live my life with no regrets and whatever I did, I did, and I own it.” Maybe being a host on Morning Show on CNN is not where the journalist thought he’d end up. Prior to his sexist remarks, he was reported to have screamed at his co-host Kaitlan Collins. The tantrum caused Collins to leave the studio abruptly. The former CNN host wasn’t meshing well with Collins, and the crew knew it. Don Lemon doesn’t need to rush to find a job, and a little reflection wouldn’t hurt. He used to have his own show and suddenly needed to share space with others. Don Lemon yelled at Collins for supposedly interrupting him during a show; the former CNN host was shocked and disappointed by his firing, but life goes on.
Only time will tell how long Lemon feels that he is in no rush to have a job in the spotlight again.
