Donald Trump stokes the flames of discord between royal brothers Prince William and Prince Harry, after moving against the Duke’s deportation. The Duke of Sussex has been at loggerheads with his family since making the decision to quit his royal life, flee the UK, and begin a new life in the United States alongside his wife Meghan Markle. Sources have claimed his brother William especially wants nothing to do with him following the 40-year-old’s scathing allegations against him and the royal family in his book, Spare as well as other controversial revelations in interviews and documentaries.
Amid talks of a royal reconciliation, the US president seems intent on driving a wedge further between the brothers. In a recent interview with the New York Post, Donald Trump touched on his plans for Prince Harry amid the deportation drama, while also voicing his opinion of each brother.
Donald Trump Gives Verdict on Prince Harry’s Deportation
Notably, the Duke of Sussex has been the center of a highly-publicized drama with The Heritage Foundation, over his immigration status. The right-wing think Tank group filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security last year, pushing for the release of the Duke’s immigration documents, citing his admission to past drug use in his memoir, Spare. The group believes the prince may have lied about his drug usage in his immigration papers, and received special treatment from Joe Biden’s administration to secure his US citizenship. If proven, Prince Harry could face deportation from the US.
Despite Donald Trump’s backing of the think tank group and threats to deport Prince Harry without hesitation if he sensed any falsehood in his immigration paperwork, the POTUS appeared to have a change of heart. Addressing the immigration dispute during his talk with the New York Post, Trump revealed he had no interest in deporting the exiled prince from the United States. However, the politician gave the prince no time to relish his sigh of relief, taking a jab at his “terrible” wife in the same breath. The POTUS fired,
“I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

After his brutal remark about Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, Donald Trump proceeded to praise his brother Prince William, whom he met in person last year in Paris, during the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral. He described William as “a great young man,” a stark contrast to his belittling opinion of Harry. This blow comes at a low point for the Sussexes’ who are reportedly struggling to salvage their reputations and keep their Hollywood careers afloat.
Prince Harry and his wife struck the first blow at Donald Trump years earlier with their open disapproval of his leadership and personality. Meghan Markle famously labeled the POTUS as “divisive” and “misogynistic” in one of her outbursts despite the royal family’s tendency to avoid meddling in political affairs. After bidding his time for years, it seems Trump finally snagged the perfect opportunity to pay back the duchess in her own coin with his latest jab.
