Don’t Be Scared; Zenless Zone Zero’s Size Isn’t 100 GB

The Zenless Zone Zero x Tiesto collaboration came together with the start of the pre-installation. Therefore, many players decided to prepare well before the ZZZ release date and start downloading the files. However, many were surprised that the game requires 100 GB of free space on PC for the first patch. This is undoubtedly an excessive size, especially when other users have had to abandon other similar games due to the size they occupy. Thankfully, there’s nothing to worry about, as ZZZ does not use that much storage.

Panic quickly spread and many gamers started worrying about whether they would need more PC storage. Others complained about HoYoverse’s apparent mistake in making such a large download. Some attributed so much GB to all the models already included, as well as to the fact that there are also text and audio files of various languages. However, even though the Zenless Zone Zero pre-installation consists of 100 GB of data, it will scale to 50 GB. So, in reality, the download will be much smaller in size and will be more accessible. Also, this may be at the beginning, but HoYoverse may do what they did with Genshin Impact, which is to start deleting old resources to improve performance.

Some people still think that 50 GB is too much to download. They compared this pre-installation of Zenless Zone Zero with Wuthering Waves, which initially had 22 GB, or Elden Ring, which had approximately 60 GB. However, from the Special Program, it seems that HoYoverse’s latest gacha already has enough content, like a large map and a story, that could justify the weight of the installation. All that remains is to see how Zenless Zone Zero will perform on the first day. So, if you have the space on your PC, remember to start your pre-download because this game will begin on July 4th.
