Don’t Starve is consistently one of the most impressive survival/crafting games on Steam. The original game contained tons of content, then Don’t Starve Together added multiplayer, alongside Reign of Giants, the caves update, and Shipwrecked adding massive amounts of content to the game. The newest update to the game, entitled A New Reign, does not seem like it is quite in the realm of those massive updates, but it appears to be adding quite a large amount of content to the already gigantic game. Check out the trailer for it below, along with a list of some of the new features:

You can view the full list of changes in the update here, but below are the most important:

  • New giants: There are a few additions to the “boss”-like giants of Don’t Starve Together. New giants include Klaus, the Bee Queen, and Toadstool, many of whom you can see in the above trailer.
  • New biomes: There are new secrets to be discovered in the desert biome, the caves, and the ruins.
  • New secrets: It sounds like the ruins are the area that has seen the most tweaking. The bizarre story of Don’t Starve Together has new secrets to uncover. It seems most of these new secrets focus on the ruins.
  • New equipment, music, emotes, and a huge number of bug fixes.
Winston and friends have some serious trials to survive.

It’s time to gather up your friends and try to make it through some more winters. Don’t Starve Together: A New Reign is a free update to the game and is available to download now. Stay tuned for more updates on Klei’s survival/crafting game as they become available.
