Texas Senator Ted Cruz warned that Democrats would pursue impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump and block Cabinet and judicial nominees if they regain control of Congress.

Speaking on Fox News’ “Hannity,” the Texas Republican called the upcoming midterm elections “the most important midterm we’ve ever seen” and argued that Democratic victories in both the House and Senate would lead to what he described as “total warfare.”

“If the Democrats take the House, it will be non-stop impeachment and attacking President Trump every single day,” Cruz said. He added that a Democratic-controlled Senate would “shut down every confirmation for every cabinet member, every judge.”

Cruz urged supporters to remain politically engaged and vote in the midterm elections.

Ted Cruz’s ‘Total Warfare’ Warning Draws Mockery From Voters

Many commenters said Cruz’s warning described actions they would support rather than fear.

“That’s the whole point Ted,” one commenter wrote. Others echoed that view with remarks including, “That sounds great,”

“Sign me up for that!!” and “Well… yes. That would be fantastic.”

The phrase “Don’t threaten us with a good time” appeared repeatedly throughout the discussion. Variations included “Don’t threaten us with a good time Rafael,”

“They always are threatening us with a good time,” and “Don’t tempt us with a good time.”

Several commenters argued that the actions Cruz described would amount to accountability for the Trump administration. “Right the wrongs of this administration,” one user wrote, while another commented, “Gee Ted, I’m failing to see a problem with that…”

Some commenters suggested Cruz’s remarks could motivate Democratic voters. “Cancun Ted lays out the best reason for Americans to vote for Democrats in November’s House and Senate races. Thank you, Cancun Ted,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “Awesome! Thanks for the motivation, Rafael.”

Others accused Cruz of projecting Republican tactics onto Democrats. “Ted Cruz is projecting,” one user wrote. Another commented, “You mean they’d be doing exactly they have done? Shocking.” A separate commenter added, “Every warning they shout out is projection.”

Several commenters also questioned whether Democrats would pursue the aggressive strategy Cruz described. “I would love for the democrats in power to be half as motivated, committed, and loyal to the people they purport to represent as Ted Cruz thinks they are,” one user wrote.

As the discussion spread online, commenters remained divided over whether Cruz’s warning reflected political accountability, partisan retaliation, or simply the reality of modern American politics.
