Dracula is finally getting his day in the sun…sort of. The original vampire is getting his very own Marvel miniseries aptly titled Dracula: Blood Hunt. The three-issue series will tie in with the vicious Blood Hunt series this summer. It will feature the Lord of Vampires alongside Blade’s daughter Bloodline. This sure-to-be bloody miniseries comes from writer Danny Lore and artist Vincenzo Carratu. Meanwhile, artist Rod Reis will handle the covers for all three issues.
Dracula: Blood Hunt
As the Marvel Universe is plunged into everlasting night, Dracula will find an unexpected partner in the daughter of his nemesis. After debuting in a limited series last year and popping up in Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Brielle Brooks is ready to step up. Her unique heritage makes her a key player in the upcoming vampire-focused crossover event. Now, Dracula: Blood Hunt will put her future in the hands of none other than the man who stands against her family legacy.
Speaking on the new limited series, writer Danny Lore shares that one of the more interesting aspects of Dracula is his time. Specifically, the fact that he doesn’t run on mortal time. This allows him to scheme and plot from the shadows. The limited series finds Dracula pulling out all the stops to protect the daughter of his sworn enemy. But why? What could Dracula be up to that would force him to keep Brielle alive? Considering Dracula is the Lord of Vampires, there is more than meets the eye to this plan.
A Bloody Good Time
Several series, like Dracula: Blood Hunt, are spawning out of Marvel’s Blood Hunt event. The crossover finds the world of Marvel plummeted into darkness, letting the vampires emerge from the shadows. While these creatures rarely work together, something is uniting them. What could be behind this sudden scourge of the undead? And, can the heroes of the Marvel Universe stand against such an unrelentless horde from the dark?
Dracula: Blood Hunt is on sale 05/08.
