Some of you might not know it, but this was a huge weekend for Dragon Ball fans, which naturally includes all of us here. For the unaware, Dragon Ball hosted its 40th Anniversary event and dropped several announcements for many of the series’ video games, but most importantly, anime. That’s right, Dragon Ball is about to hit one of the most anticipated arcs from the Super saga, as well as a brand-new anime featuring our favorite Destroyer of Worlds. But that’s not all, because the video game area is also getting plenty of things, including DLCs for existing titles, and even a brand-new game with original characters.

Dragon Ball Announces Two Anime Shows, With One Being the Galactic Patrol Arc

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus | ENHANCED Edition | SUPER Launch Trailer

Let’s go over the first two big announcements of the event. For starters, Dragon Ball is getting two anime shows, one called Beerus and the other one Galactic Patrol. The former is a retelling from the first arc in the Super saga, but treated as an enhanced edition with a complete re-rendering of some scenes, new dubbing, and even new cuts.

While the above news is certainly exciting, as having a Dragon Ball show this Fall will be great, the truth is that the thing that surprises us all was the announcement of the Galactic Patrol arc.

[DRAGON BALL] 40th Anniversary Special Video

After showing a heartwarming video of the whole Dragon Ball series over the year, we got the teaser of the new Super arc: Galactic Patrol. For those who don’t know, this has been a long-awaited arc due to the many events in the manga, including the introduction of Moro and finally seeing Goku master Ultra Instinct. We don’t know what parts of the manga the anime will adapt, but we’re pretty excited to see what will happen once it airs.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Gets New DLC

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Zero – New DLC Teaser Trailer

A lot of people thought Sparking! ZERO was too quiet, but the Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary event surprised us all with a massive DLC. This expansion-like update will bring new characters, including Super Android 17 and King Piccolo, as well as new stages, costumes, tag-team attacks, like the one in the trailer, and even single-player modes. This is huge news, as this beloved fighting game is about to grow even more and feature so much content that will cater to both competitive players and those who like some single-player action.

New Dragon Ball ‘AGE 1000’ Game Announced

DRAGON BALL | NEW GAME PROJECT "AGE 1000" Announcement Trailer

Last, but certainly not least, we got the announcement of “Age 1000,” a brand-new game in the Dragon Ball universe that’s set way in the future with original characters created by the legendary Akira Toriyama before his passing.

While there aren’t a lot of details about the game or some lengthy gameplay showcase, we know this title has been in development for many years and will be the most ambitious game we’ve seen for the series. Also, it seems there are some ties to the long-gone Dragon Ball Online, which excited many people, as that game was fantastic in many ways. There will be more details about this game in April during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, so if you want to see what’s next for the video game part of Dragon Ball, be sure to tune in.

Overall, this is a great time to be a Dragon Ball fan. While we all miss Akira Toriyama, it is great to see his legacy lives one, and that we’ll get to experience some of his last work soon. We can only hope that this new game and the Galactic Patrol arc arrive soon because we can’t wait to see more of Goku and the gang.
