Today is supposed to be a big day for Dragon Ball fans. The long-awaited next-gen upgrade for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases today for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Or so we thought. The latter version got delayed at the last minute. This has many players angry and disappointed at a delay without previous notice. The developers claim that it is due to some technical issues. There is not much information out there but the outrage is real. While the PS5 version was also hard to get, the Xbox One doesn’t have a release date now and fans are worried.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Delays Its Xbox Series X|S Version Until Further Notice

(Updated on September 5, 2024 – updated links and format)

In many cases, we get a set date after the delay, sadly, that didn’t happen. On the official Twitter account, the developers just announced the delay and that’s it. They claim the version won’t be up until further notice, and that’s pretty bad. Some users on Reddit have shown many bugs when trying to play the new version. This might be the reason why Bandai Namco decided to pull the update back for the newest Xbox consoles.

Our investigation revealed an issue that can block Xbox X | S users from playing DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT for Xbox. Therefore, we have temporarily postponed the launch of "-BARDOCK- Alone Against Fate" and "Season Pass 2" for Xbox.

Besides that, some others have claimed that the new Season Pass is quite expensive. You can get the Season Pass 2 for $39.99 or buy each episode for $19.99. Both seem quite expensive, but so far, the DLC for the game has been great. Still, Xbox Series X|S players who want to enjoy Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot with the upgrades will have to wait. Now, PS5 users are also having issues. According to several comments in the recent thread, only those who bought the Deluxe Edition are able to upgrade. Standard edition owners can’t seem to get the PS5 version working. This is bad and marks a horrible launch for Bandai Namco. All we can do is wait for a fix that’ll hopefully arrive soon.
