Fans waiting for Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC news might have just got another reason to stock up on hopium. After anniversary art hints, a fresh round of backend activity on SteamDB has kicked speculation back into overdrive. According to the latest SteamDB logs, two major depots — 2054971 and 2054972 — were both updated on April 15, 2026, at 05:25 UTC.
Each of them clocks in at 65.81GB, which is basically identical to the full install size of Dragon’s Dogma 2 itself. That’s not a minor patch. That’s a full-game-sized chunk of data being moved around.
For those uninitiated, a ‘depot’ is essentially a package of game files. When a depot gets updated, it means developers have pushed a new version of those files to Steam’s server. What’s interesting is that both depots were marked as ‘local’ — a build that’s only accessible internally. This might indicate the developers are testing something. Especially when, before this article was written, fans noticed a 77GB depot was dropped, then quickly pulled.
Gabsteincian wrote on the Dragon’s Dogma subreddit, “ANYWAY I JUST THINK THIS MEAN THEY’RE [expletive] WORKING ON THE GAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.” With teruvalin adding, “please God let the depots mean something this time.”

There are also smaller breadcrumbs worth noting; there were changes in a separate SteamDB listing. Both the Character Creator & Storage and Original Soundtrack were quietly updated on March 10, 2026. Meanwhile, their previous depot update dates back to June 11, 2025.
Previously, we also covered how Capcom may have teased something about the DLC during Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s second anniversary. An unfamiliar character with his back turned can be seen standing alongside Vocation Maisters. Then there’s a note written in in-game letters, saying “Sightings of griffins flying in from the northern region of Organ have been confirmed.”
No one knows for sure if Capcom is actually working on a Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC. Especially considering series creator Hideaki Itsuno isn’t even in the company anymore. Nevertheless, these hints and secret updates feel like groundwork for something big. You definitely can’t blame fans for hoping for a content update as expansive as Dark Arisen to suddenly swoop in like a griffin hunting its prey.
