LeBron James has many relationships with other celebrities. However, one friendship that stood out was with famous rapper Drake. Drake, aka Aubrey Graham, has been a fan of LeBron for many years now. Although since the rapper’s beef with Kendrick Lamar, James seems to have switched up on his old friend. The two artists would go back and forth, each writing their own diss tracks until most of the internet declared Kendrick the winner. With that title under his belt, Lamar would enjoy his spoils of war. Along with his new friends, of course.
Reports from the NY Post state that recently, at one of Drake’s shows, the rapper would switch up his lyrics to his 2018 song, “Nonstop.” The original lyrics read, “How I go from six to 23 like I’m LeBron.” However, at his most recent concert, the rapper would change the words to “How I go from six to 23 but not LeBron.” While the change does not really affect the song, many fans are wondering if there is really some kind of beef between Drake and LeBron James. Some fans on social media have even turned on Drake. One even stated, “He’s so annoying.”
The Beef Between LeBron James and Drake Is Heating Up
If there is any ill will towards LBJ from Drake, it would most likely stem back a few months. This would be after Kendrick had dropped his hit song and Drake diss titled “Not Like Us.” The song had grown in popularity so much that at one of Kendrick’s shows, the rapper played the song multiple times in a row. This led to some celebrities, as well as NBA players, to join the artist on stage to dance and sing. One of the players who attended the show was, in fact, LeBron James. While The King never took to the stage, Bron can be seen in a video dancing and singing to the hit song.
While LeBron James never got on stage with Kendrick Lamar, Drake seeing his friend support his biggest rival seems like enough to upset him. “Not Like Us” is known for its catchy beat as well as for calling out Aubrey Graham (Drake) as a pedophile. Another NBA player who got on stage during the show was former Toronto Raptor Demar Derozan. Demar and Drake also go way back, as the rapper is a huge fan of his hometown Raptors.
Drake has yet to publicly condemn LeBron James for switching sides on him. However, it seems as though the rapper will continue to fire small shots at the basketball icon. Will Aubrey ever be able to forgive LeBron? Or will this small beef turn into something much more ugly?
